We left Ohio this morning (Saturday) and had a fairly easy trip to Elkhart, IN. We are staying at the Elkhart Camp Ground where we have all stayed before. It is a nice campground, close to shopping and all the RV manufacturers (and Long John Silvers). Larry and Bonnie will have some work done on their coach on Wednesday.
On Sunday, the guys went off to scavenge at the RV surplus shops. Not much money spent, but lots of interesting ideas came out of the trip. Sarah and Bonnie spent the day doing laundry, household chores, and computer stuff. We seem to be addicted to playing Mexican Train every night and the girls are beating the guys.

After a morning where the guys went surplussing and the girls worked at home, we set out for South Bend. We dropped the guys off at the Studebaker Museum where Steve saw his favorite car ever--a 1958 Packard Hawk- only 588 were ever made!.

Meanwhile, Sarah and Bonnie toured the campus at Notre Dame . We started at the visitor's center and bookstore, then took a walking tour which included the main campus building, the Basilica, the Grotto, and the Library to see the famous mural, "Touchdown Jesus" which can be seen from the north end zone of the Stadium and is much photographed, especially during ND football games. Tired and a little bit lost, we hitched a ride with a kindly ND employee in a golf cart who took us back to our car! It is a beautiful campus...well worth the trip.

I needed to visit the local Apple Store in South Bend for a minor IPhone problem, so we stopped at University Mall on the way home. After dinner in our coaches, we played our nightly game of Mexican Train, and Larry took charge of the winning spree for a change.
