August 19, 2014 Amish Country

After a relatively quiet morning, we headed for Shipshewana to go to the huge flea market there.  We wandered the market, not buying but enjoying the looking, for a couple of hours.  We noticed that some of the merchants were packing up their wares.  They had heard that a "severe and dangerous" storm was headed that way.  We made our way back to the Yoder and Wana markets just as the rain came pelting down!  We enjoyed shopping for jellies, cheese, sausages, and candy until the storm had passed.

A quilt square made of flowers...there are many of them here.

Home of great "broasted" chicken"
We headed for Middlebury to have dinner at Das Essenhaus, where they serve the best "broasted" chicken I've ever had.  After eating our fill at the buffet and browsing the interesting shops, we returned to the RV's for dominos and preparing for departure the next day.
An ordinary sight in this area.
