We are on our way!

We left the Mayo Peninsula today with bittersweet feelings. We know that Mom and Cindy are better off without the "albatross" of a house, and we think they will be happy in their new homes. However, there are a lot of memories being left behind in that house. We just hope that whomever buys the property will share as much fun and love and laughter there as our family did.

That being said, we headed north and west to meet up with our traveling companions, Larry and Bonnie, in Pennsylvania. It was miserable weather---rain almost all the way. We arrived at the campground I had selected in Huntingdon, PA about 3 pm. It is at the top of a mountain (read-long, steep, winding road) and is a mostly seasonal campground. Even though we reserved 2 campsites together, we are about 1/2 mile apart from our friends. We found each other in spite of the distance, and enjoyed happy hour together before heading to Woody's Bar and Grill in Huntingdon (bottom of the mountain) for an excellent dinner. Back to the RV for planning and catching up before turning in for an early night. We are off tomorrow for Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (on my bucket list).

On the way here we stopped at a really neat rest area. This is the first time we have seen a parking area especially for RV's! It is away from the big rigs so you don't have to worry about the dogs running out in front of a truck. The space is big enough for the RV and the toad, and it is located adjacent to the pet walk without crossing the road. What a great idea! Hope to see more of these. This one is on I-70 north of Fredericksburg, MD.
