Two items off the bucket list! August 15, 2014

It is a good day when I can take one thing off my bucket list, but a great day when I can take two!!!  Today was one of those days.

The weather continues to be gorgeous....cool in the morning then rising to the low 70's.  We headed into Cleveland and parked across the street from the FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns.  Bucket list check #1--I am trying to see all 31 NFL stadiums as we travel.  So far I have seen 21.

We walked along the waterfront to reach the beautiful gleaming glass pyramid building and grounds of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, bucket list check #2.  This is truly an awesome experience for people of all ages as it covered everything from the background and influences on rock and roll to modern day rap and hip hop.  There are many artifacts, costumes, instruments,  and interactive displays and several short movies.  My favorite, of course, was the Elvis Presley exhibit--the King of Rock and Roll forever.  Each of the 7 levels of the building was full of interesting and nostalgic information.  Anyone planning on visiting should allow at least 4-5 hours in order to do and see as much as possible.      rockhall.com

Just a note on the camping experience:  we are staying at the American Wilderness Campground in Grafton, OH, and the folks here seem to have their calendar all mixed up!  There are Halloween decorations on many of the campsites, and the parking lot contained the 3 vehicles seen here.  We have no idea what is going on, but plan to leave ASAP before we have to provide Trick or Treat candy!

Halloween comes early in the campground.

  1. They must close for the season. Been there; done that. Try having Thanksgiving in September. I remember the R & R Hall of Fame. Alot of memorabilia. Glad you are having fun. - BBE
